While the makers have officially announced the renewal of the anime for a third season, no official release date has been put out to the public. The first season of the show aired from the 8th of July, 2019, and continued till the 7th of October, 2019. After that, the makers released the second season on the 13th of January, 2022, and continued till the 31st of March, 2022. Some speculations claim that the third installment will be released this year only. However, official confirmation awaits. 

Earlier, the fans assumed they would get to watch the third season in 2023, but in vain. Now, they keep their fingers crossed in the hope of catching a glimpse of their favorite show this year.

What is Arifureta All About? 

As per Seven Seas, the studio responsible for the production of this anime, Arifureta is described as under: 

“When a classroom of students is transported to another world to act as its saviors, Hajime Nagumo finds himself the weakest link. As his friends and classmates are granted strong classes and impressive abilities due to their existing skills, he is given the weak title of Synergist. When a dungeon quest leaves him separated from his group, Hajime must discover his own talents or be left to rot in this world forever.” 

The story is written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (light novel), and the anime adaptation is directed by Jun Kamiya. 

Is Arifureta Renewed for the Third Season? 

The makers made an official announcement of the release of Arifureta Season 3 on X. An announcement was also made on the 10th of September, 2022, during The Arifureta OVA Advance Screening and Talk Show that took place at Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema in Tokyo. The makers released a visual of the third season, making the audience jump with immense joy. 

Arifureta Season 3 Plot

At the end of Arifureta’s second season, Hajime and his harem of heroes were seen splitting into two groups after wrestling with the chaos and political upheaval of the capital city. Half of the people decided to stay behind and battle with their enemies, while the other half prepared to journey into a new but dangerous labyrinth. The third season is most likely to take this plot ahead. 

Reportedly, Season 3 will pick up from volume 7 of the light novel, right after Hajime decides to go with his party into the next part of the dungeon. But, he later changes course when the news of Haulia fending off the Empire and the Demons reaches him. In the light novel, the upcoming chapters have a lot of plot build-up related to taking down the Empire. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this season introduces the audience to a few new antagonists.

It is expected that the third season will have 13 episodes, like the previous season. The news is great for the fans.
